Parambikulam wildlife Sanctuary

The Parambikulam wildlife Sanctuary is one of wildlife sanctury in Kerala. Set amidst the luscious green surroundings of the Nelliampathy hills in Kerala and the Annamalai Hills of Tamil Nadu, the sanctuary gives you the best diversity of flora and fauna. Spanning over an area of 285square kilometers, this wildlife haven is a living paradise with the innumerable streams gurgling by and the undulating terrain only contributing to the already existent beauty. With the densely forested zones of the Kannimara teak plantations, the other vegetation here include the bamboos, sandalwoods and the rosewood trees which so dominate the whole area. This is the land of the Muthuvas, Malayars and the Kudos tribal areas so these tribes inhabit this area and you would come across them in one of your travails.

The fauna includes animals like the Indian bisons, sambars, gaurs, the elephants, the wild boars, the Nilgiri Tahr, the leopards, the sloth bears, the bonnet macaques, and many such diversity of wild animals. Then there are the reptiles like the turtles, the crocodiles, the vipers, the cobras and the Kraits. There is a forest department state governed rest house here in Electrode, Helical and Thoonakkavadu, which provide lodging facilities. However if you want to enjoy the pleasures of living in a tree house you have to ensure that you make the bookings in advance. With such virgin ambience and idyllic surroundings, the wildlife sanctuary at Parambikulam gives the tourists an opportunity to get the best of flora and fauna. Air : The nearest airport is located at Coimbatore which is about 100 kms.

Rail : The nearest railway station is located at Pollachi which is about 60 kms.

Road : The Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is connected with the town of Palakkad and Thiruvananthapuram.

DAY 01 - 02 : Calicut (Kozhikode) - Wayanad

Day 01 - On arrival, our representative would be greeting you and assisting with hotel check-in. A brief up on your tour plan would be provided.Mananchira Square is the heart of Kozhikode and surrounds Mananchira tank which used to be the private bath of the Samuthiris. The renovated square today houses important structures such as Commonwealth Trust Factory, Town Hall, and Lalitkala Academy Hall. In the evening, visit Kozhikode Beach known for its amazing sunset views. Lions Park and the Marine Water Aquarium are other places to visit on the beach. Another beach is Beypore Beach, 10 Km from Kozhikode. The traditional boat-building yard is a must visit. Overnight Stay at the property .

Day 02 - Post breakfast, drive to Wayanad. Relax in the property and enjoy the natural surroundings. Overnight stay .

DAY 03 - 04 : Wayanad -Trichur

Day 03 - Today visit Edakkal caves, Wayanad wildlife sanctuary. Overnight stay.

Day 04 - Post breakfast, drive down to Trichur. Check in at the property. Visit the art museum, archaeological museum and the Kerala Kalamandalam in Cheruthuruthy. Overnight stay.

DAY 05 - 06: Trichur - Cochin

Day 05 - Morning, drive to Cochin. Cochin is the natural harbour created by the famed underwater Malabar mud-banks. Vasco-de-gamma placed it on the world map. Visit Fort Cochin, Mattancherry palace, Jewish synagogue, St. Francis church and view the operation of the Chinese fishing nets.

Day 06 - Post breakfast; go on a shopping spree around the market. In the evening, visit Cochin cultural centre for enjoying the Kerala traditional art - Kathakali, performed by professional artist. Over night stay .

DAY 07 - 08 : Cochin - Alleppey - Kovalam

Day 07 - Drive down to Alleppey to embark your Kettuvellam house and start your thrilling experience through the backwater beauty of Kerala. While on your journey you can view lush green paddy fields, coconut farms, small churches and you can observe the life orientation of villagers in the backwaters. On board your crew will serve you delicious food, prepared from fresh vegetables purchased from the floating market. Later in the evening the houseboat will anchor on the Vembanad Lake. Over night stay in your air conditioned deluxe house boat.

Day 08 - Post breakfast you will be disembarking from the house boat at Alleppey finishing point boat jetty, from there your car will pick you up and continue drive to Kovalam. Check-in at the property and relax. Overnight stay .

DAY 09 - 10 - 11 : Kovalam - Trivandrum - Departure

Day 09 - Post breakfast, drive to Trivandrum. Visit Napier Museum and Sir Chitra Art gallery. Return back to Kovalam. Overnight stay .

Day 10 - Relax today with beach activities/ Ayurvedic massage. Overnight stay.

Day 11 - Post breakfast, drive down to Trivandrum for your onward journey
